Geography
The Bahama Islands are basically coral reefs (calcium carbonate) that became dry land when the sea level dropped throughout the last millennia. Most of the islands of the Bahamas are mostly flat with miles of sugary white and pink sand beaches and by many accounts some the best in the world. The beaches on Great Exuma and other islands in the Bahamas were made from the wave action against the coral shoreline from the last million years, which created a powdery residue from shells and coral reefs.
